  • My husband and I have had tremendous fun recklessly overpopulating the world, but not so much fun recklessly overfunding our government.

  • It's always a crisis! The same old lame "Chicken Little" strategy.

  • That each person is a precious resource is yet another powerhouse teaching of Christianity, the dynamo that powered the rise of greatest civilization in human history, the West.

  • I was told that many years ago.

  • @bakersdozen2 - ditto

    Well, my wife and I, I mean. I don't have a husband.

  • Europe's population is declining. Who is going to pay for the government when there are fewer people to tax? Forgive me if I give an anecdotal 'fact'. I was told back in the 70's (?) that if all the world's population were standing shoulder to shoulder they would all fit into the state of Oregon. I never measured that myself, but I'm just saying.

  • @mcbery - The clip said if all the people lived in a house they could fit in Texas.

  • Well done. Hope you'll embed the rest of the vids in this series. Peace

  • http://www.demographicwinter.com  has excellent information about this topic.

  • Once upon a time long, long ago I was a little girl and I didn't understand even then why when there were starving people farmers were paid not to plant or burn their crops.  I asked my dad "Why?" His answer was "economics".  Then in high school we thought SS would be broke by the time we needed it and wondered why we should pay in.  We were told "prison".  We were also told by the end of the 60's we should cut the population growth to "0". Which permitted me to have the two sons that I have.  Now we are told we are still overpopulated but there is not enough young people to support our generation after 65.  So to support the people that are 65 or older the government supposedly pulls "rabbits out of their hats" and prints more money than is backed by anything solid and the problrm is supposedly fixed.  Of course we are all seeing how that is not working.  Maybe we should have had more kids to put more money into social security before the population was again reduced by starvation, global warming, or we blow ourselves up.  I don't know where I am going with all of this other than for us all to eat..there must be suicide, homocide, or euthanisa and the first two are illegal.

  • Interesting video. Definitely makes you stop and think, doesn't it?

I think the bigger problem is that too many people are living in one area and too few people are living in another area so it gives the impression that we're overpopulating.

  • Thats just what I wanted to hear:) Thanx.  Cuz I'm tired of the same old "our poor abused planet" b.s.

  • @aretheyallyours - thank you for the link. I went in to read the description of the film .

Yes, I well remember the ZPG surge. I remember the DDT genocide in africa. All part of the whole global sustainability by the alleged intellects.

If one of the intellects ever took the time to realize that the decalogue provided for a good orderly direction for society and that the family unit and the extended family were the  foundational core of society without any religious implications, perhaps we could recognize them as true scholars and analysts.

I rememberr in a marriage and family sociology elective course I took in college that my prof said that the nuclear family was destroying one of the core elements of american society, however with the society becoming more mobile/transient it was almost a necessary evil. He stated the family homestead was the real wealth creator both in moral and fiscal terms and kept the core of family at the foundation of american society.

Now even the nuclear family is self destructing and we listen to the current regime wanting to make sure families fiscal futures are ripped apart with oppressive estate taxes . I am not holding my breath to see an elimination of the marriage penalty in the tax code either

    Thanks for the link.

  • Some people seem to think that all variables are constants.

    Population will adjust itself.

  • @stuartandabby -  "no static at all" because almost everything is fluid.  Obviously the models were flawed, however, that is the result when you predetermine the problem before you study it.

  • @ProvokingThought - Almost as arrogant as assuming that you can control the weather, no?

problems are a myth that their evidence is very sparse and inconclusive.
Recently I read Book 1  of the free
e-book series "In Search of Utopia" (http://andgulliverreturns.info),
it blasts their lack of evidence
relative to their calling overpopulation a myth. The book, actually the
last half of the book, takes on the skeptics in global warming, overpopulation,
lack of fresh water, lack of food, and other areas where people deny the
evidence. I strongly suggest that anyone
wanting to see the whole picture read the book, at least the last half. The outdated fertility replacement rate of 2.1 is also clarified.
