On Thursday evening, as I entered the Celebration of Ministry and Ordination Service, the congregation was singing "Holy Spirit, You Are Welcome Here," and the presence of the Spirit of the Lord was evident throughout the service.
It was a joy and an honor to be accompanied by my dear wife, Kendra Lovelace Balliet, my brother David Balliet, my mentor Eric Raygor, my Conference Superintendent, Sang Kong Choi, and, during the laying on of hands, my former Conference Superintendent, Sung S. Chung. Likewise, it was an honor to have Rev. Jay Sterling pass the mantle to me after 40 years of distinguished ministry.
This was also the 200th anniversary of the Western Pennsylvania Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, presided over by our new Resident Bishop Sandra Steiner-Ball
I was further blessed by Kendra Lovelace Balliet's planning, which included cousins and friends from New Jersey, as well as my brothers and their wives, to be there.. Kendra also obtained special permission for my brother, David, to participate in the service. I am blessed to have Kendra as a partner in life and in ministry.
    Thank you, all.
